Go Red for Women: Supporting Heart Health in Parkville, MO

Heart health matters everywhere — and here in Parkville, MO, it matters to us personally.

Margie is proud to be involved with Go Red for Women, the American Heart Association’s national movement dedicated to ending heart disease and stroke in women. This initiative raises awareness, funds critical research, and empowers women to understand their risk and take action.

Heart disease is the number one killer of women in the United States. For years, it was often misunderstood as primarily a men’s health issue, but the statistics tell a different story. Go Red for Women was launched in 2004 to change that narrative, educate women, and ensure they have the tools and knowledge to protect their heart health.

The movement focuses on helping women know their risk factors, recognize warning signs, and understand important health numbers such as blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels. Heart disease can present differently in women, which makes awareness and education even more critical.

Here in Parkville, MO, we believe community matters — and that includes supporting causes that strengthen the health and well-being of the women who live and work here. Through local involvement and participation in Go Red for Women events, community leaders and advocates help bring national awareness to a local level.

Go Red for Women also highlights powerful survivor stories, showcasing women who have faced heart disease or stroke and are using their voices to inspire others. The movement hosts events, encourages participation in National Wear Red Day, and supports research and advocacy efforts that improve outcomes for women across the country — including right here in Missouri.

At NorthStar Realty KC, we’re proud to support initiatives that go beyond real estate. Serving Parkville, MO means caring about the people who make this community what it is. Supporting heart health awareness is one way we can give back and stand alongside the women in our community.
